My Sanity Slipping Away . . .

Earlier I heard Emma screaming from the other room. I ran in to see what was going on and she was upset and said that Hannah bit her. I turned to Hannah and told her that biting wasn't nice and not to do it again. She then told me that she did it because Emma bit her nose. I then asked Emma if she did, in fact, bite Hannah's nose. Her answer was "well I bit it soft".

Happy Birthday Amber

Tonight we had a surprise party for my cousin's birthday. We met at the park and gave her a big surprise. I'm glad that we could do that for her. We had a lot of fun chatting and eating the yummy cake. I'm glad to have had Amber as my cousin and my friend all of these years. We've been on many adventures together and I've always felt that we totally get each other. I'm going to totally embarrass both of us, but here is a snippet of a video that I made her for Christmas. It's some old footage of me and her from years ago.

Here are some pictures from the party

Funny Hannah

Yesterday I went to go pick up some lunch on the way to my sisters house. I ordered a salad and when the man in the window handed me my salad he said "and here's your salad". Hannah heard him say this and said "mom, I don't like salad". I wasn't paying attention to her so she said again "Mom I Don't Like Salad". I still didn't answer her (as a mom I just tune things out) so she screamed hysterically "MOM I DON'T LIKE SALAD!!!" to which I replied "Ok, you don't like salad". Then Emma piped up and said "I like salad sometimes" which was quickly followed by Hannah saying "Ooh, I like salad sometimes too!". Seriously, I'm surprised I'm not in the crazy house yet.

Kickball

Here a few pictures from our kickball game last night. I had Emma take them for me. We lost both games again . . . I blame our shirts, how can anyone win being the orange team.

Kickball Injury

Me, my sister, my brother, my mom, my dad and Kwinton all joined a Kickball team. I got my first kickball injury. I love it! I'll post more pictures after our next game.

Art?

Ok, so maybe I'm losing my mind but I found this in the girls bedroom today and thought it was a work of art. Hannah put it together. I love the balancing act, the necklace on the dinosaur and how he is biting the lamp. Not to mention the pink frog that matches the pink plate, cup and necklace so well. haha

Death By Grass

This story begins the a few nights ago as I was crawling into bed to go to sleep. My allergies were bugging me a lot that day. As you may or may not know, I am allergic to everything, yes everything. When my Dr did the allergy test on my back about a month ago we found out that out of the 60 things the tested me for I was only NOT allergic to five types of molds. Everything else I was. Animals, trees, grasses ect . . . you get the picture. Anyway, back to the story. My allergies were bugging me a lot that day because Dan had spent the day coming in and out of the house while mowing the lawn. As I was laying there trying to sleep it just kept getting worse and worse. I would almost fall to sleep then would have trouble breathing and wake up in a panic. After a while I asked Dan if he showered after he mowed the lawn. He was mad that I would think he didn't and told me of course he did. I told him that I was sorry but my allergies were bugging me really bad so I thought I'd ask. Then I asked him where he put the clothes he was wearing and he said his shirt was in the hamper. The hamper is on my side of the room so I decided to move it out of the room just in case that was what was bugging me. Then he figured it out. He lifts up his pillow and pulls out the shorts he was wearing all day mowing the lawn. Why why why would you put those under your pillow I screamed at him. His lousy excuse was that he needed to finish the lawn tomorrow so he thought he'd wear the same shorts and didn't want to put them in the hamper. Apparently this makes sense in his mind but it only made me angry. Seriously why would you put a pair of dirty shorts under your pillow. The only thing I could come up with was that he was Dan, that's why. Well as soon as we got rid of the shorts I finally started breathing again and got some sleep. It's I good thing I love that guy because if I didn't, I don't know what I'd do with him.

ARGGGHH!

How do you teach a kid to tie their own shoes! I've tried again and again with Emma and her fingers are just too short and stubby. I'm about to give up and go back to Velcro shoes again. Grrr!!

This Week's List

I haven't done a list of the week in a while so I thought I should.

Lovin' it!

1. The Weather - I was driving along the other day when I saw something out the window I almost didn't recognize. It was the sun! I said "hello sun" and the sun smiled back at me.

2. Dan's Home -I feel like it's been a year since anyone except me and the girls have been here. I walked up to the sink to do the dishes the other day and they were already done. I swear I almost fainted.

3. Emma's Off Track - I'm glad Emma is now is school but it's nice when she has a few weeks off so we can sleep in a little and play a lot more.

4. Reading - I've been enjoying a lot of good books lately.

5. American Idol - I know, I'm a nerd. It's coming down to the end and that's always the best part.

Buggin' Me

1. Waiting - Yeah, waiting just in general. Some weeks I have more patience but this week is not one of them.

2. Housecleaning - Nope, don't want to do any of this this week either.

3. Post Vacation Bank Statement - Yikes! I sure went crazy shopping in Disneyland. (It was sooooo worth it though)

4. My Ringing Phone - Maybe I'm just sad my vacation is over but I swear it's been ringing off the hook since I got home. Not that I don't want to talk to anyone but sometimes enough is enough.

5. Commercials For The New Show 'Glee' - I swear I've been seeing commercials for this upcoming show for over a month now. Would they start the stupid show so that I don't have "Don't stop believing" stuck in my head all the time. (I guess this is probably because the only show I basically watch all week is American Idol and this new show is on FOX too)

Feel free to let me know of anything you are Lovin' or is Buggin' you this week.

Gluten Free Goodness

Ok, I'll be the first one to admit that most gluten free food is not the tastiest thing in the world, but I was surprised to pick up a box of Chex today at the store that had the words 'Gluten Free' in large print on the front. I had to chuckle though when I saw that underneath they wrote "Same Great Taste". As if announcing it was gluten free would all the sudden make it taste like dirt. I find this hilarious, but until you've tasted how bad gluten free food can be maybe you won't find it so silly.

Happy Birthday Kyla

We celebrated Kyla's 1st birthday this past weekend. Kyla is my cousin Ambers little girl. She was a little hesitant digging into her cake at first but once she got into it she loved it. The kids enjoyed being outside in the sunshine and eating the yummy cake.

Disneyland

We have returned home from Disneyland! This past week we had such a great time going to Universal Studios and Disneyland with nana and papa Taylor. The weather couldn't have been better and the girls did really good considering they walked for five days straight. I know, I'm a mean mom not bringing strollers for them but I find it simpler if we have less stuff to carry along.

Monday we flew in to Burbank and headed to Universal Studios. This park didn't have a lot of rides but there were a lot of fun things to look at. Hannah was too short to do nearly any of the rides they do have but we did convince Emma to go on the Jurassic Park ride with us. She was a little scared thinking about what the dinosaurs might be like but about halfway through the ride she was ok . . . that was until the end where the huge t-rex comes out and your boat plummets down. Ahhh, it was great fun. We went to see the special effects show which me and Emma got to participate in. It was fun but a little scary being on stage in front of everyone. I was so proud of Emma for raising her hand and going up there to take part. She is such a shy kid I thought she would never do it, but she did and had a great time playing the wind chime. Next we went over to the Backdraft show. I love the Backdraft show but as soon as the girls heard there was fire in this show they were scared. We tried to tell them that it was real fire (Emma kept asking if it was real fire) but it was controlled and just a show. Needless to say, Emma came out of this one crying. Maybe we'll try it again in a few more years. We took the backlot tour which is one of my favorite things to do. I love to see all the sets. It's amazing how they can build these things and how they come to life when it comes together on the big screen. I was a little sad to see that they no longer have the clock tower from Back to the Future up. We got to see the street where all the Desperate Housewives live on (although I don't watch the show it was pretty cool. The lady behind us was going crazy over it). We saw a set from Fast and the Furious and the set from War of the Worlds where the plane crashes into the neighborhood. It was amazing to see how big that plane was. They said that it was a real plane they used to take apart and create the scene. I also got to see the studio that Life is filmed it. I love that show! I was hoping that Damien Lewis would wander by so I could take a picture. I'm a sucker for a redhead. Anyway . . . after a long day at Universal Studios we headed over to our hotel that was right across from Disneyland.

We spent the next three days enjoying Disneyland. I really do love that place. Everything is always so clean and happy. I was also really impressed to find out that they offer many gluten free choices of food. I got my gluten free guide from city hall on the first day that we got there and from there enjoyed as lot of yummy meals and I didn't get sick once on this trip. This may not seem like a big deal but it seems like every time I go on a trip I end up coming home really sick. They cooked all their fries in separate fryers (no cross contamination) and they had gluten free buns and pizza crust and some of the stands. It was wonderful!! I know, I know, enough with the food already. I was excited what can I say. The weather was so wonderful the whole week, mid to upper 80's. We didn't need jackets but as long as we weren't in the direct sunlight all day it was great. We rode on a lot of rides that I have never been on before. Mainly because we did a lot of stuff for Hannah and I have yet to ride all the kiddie rides. It still was great. It it so awesome to see how excited your kids get. I love to see them smiling and laughing and having a great time. Hannah did have a few 'hulk' moments (as we called them) where she would get tired and scream something like "MY FEET CAN'T WALK ANYMORE" or "YOU'RE NOT LISTENING TO ME". Hannah's favorite rides where the Winnie the Pooh ride and the Matterhorn (which she barley made the height requirement for). Emma loved the roller coaster in Toon Town (I forget the name) and the Big Thunder Railroad. She loved Big Thunder so much that she ended up going on in five times in three days. I enjoy Splash Mountain and Space Mountain. Dan said the roller coaster in California Adventure was great but I didn't end up going on that one, I stayed with the girls and my mom. This is the perfect time to go because the weather is great (as I mentioned) and the lines are short. It's between spring break and the end of school so not many people go this time of year. Emma just happened to be off track so it worked out perfectly. I think the longest we ever waited in a line was maybe around 20 minutes, but most of the rides we just hopped right on. I was sad when it was time to leave Disneyland for the last time. My only complaint would be that everything is over priced there, but I expected that. Yes I paid $7 for a miniature pizza for Hannah's lunch and $14 to get my two girls balloons among other things, not to mention the hundreds of dollars spent in the gift shops but it was all worth it. I can't wait to start saving money for our next vacation. I was really glad that my parents came also. We had a lot of fun laughing with them and they were always so helpful with the girls. Thank you again nana for helping me with Hannah as she was on her quest to visit every bathroom in the park. And thank you papa for keeping the girls entertained even when the rest of us ran out of energy.

Friday was our last day in California. We decided to go to the beach until it was time to get on the plane. We went to Huntington beach. I froze most of the time we were there. It was a nice day but the breeze of the ocean was cool. As everyone was was dipping there feet in the ocean (except for me shivering on the beach) a giant wave came in. My dad and Dan hurried and scooped up Hannah and my mom and Emma ran for it. I looked up just in time to see Emma hit in the back with a wave that knocked her over. She was soaked and cold but we were all laughing. We hadn't planned on getting really wet so we had to dig through packed suitcases to find some dry clothes. We walked down the pier and then down the street with the shops. I can't believe how many people were there. Don't people in California work? Ok, well I'm sure they do but I was really surprised by all the people at the beach that day. We then took a ride over to see the Queen Mary ship which we decided not to take a tour of when we found out it was $25 a person to get on the boat. (Really!?!) And then headed to the airport so we could head home. We were so glad to make it back to the beautiful Salt Lake valley. Our only problem was that when we parked at the airport neither me or Dan bothered to remember where exactly we parked. So after we got off on the wrong stop and wondered a bit my parents saw us and laughed then drove us around to find the car. I really felt dumb that we both had no idea where it was. We finally found it right near where my parents parked. This was all happening at about 10:00 at night in the dark so that didn't make it any easier, but we finally found it and headed home.

Now it's time for the pictures. I hope you enjoy!
