September 2012

Hello again!  Did you miss me?  Let's just pretend you did.  The month of September meant getting back to school and back in to a routine for the Hastings family.  I miss the nonstop fun of summer, but I'm always happy to see fall.

School technically started at the end of August.  The girls were both very excited to go after meeting their teachers.  Hannah is now in 1st grade and Emma is in 4th grade.  The are growing too quickly for me most days.

I am now a mom who's kids are all in school all day long.  I don't know if I should be happy or cry, I feel like doing both a lot.

On Labor Day we decided to head over a have a game of kickball with the kids.  It was a little warm, but overall a great day for some kickball with the family.

Let me warn you before you every play kickball with Amber, she gets a little crazy.  She was a kickball mad(wo)man, and it was awesome!

Nicely done Nikki!

Go Hannah!

I should put my camera down, I think this one is coming to me.

We went to the State Fair with the Routsons this year, and had a great time.  My camera died quickly so I don't have many pictures.  That's ok though, if you've been to the fair once you know what's there.

We just had to take a slide down the big yellow slide.

A few weeks ago my little Cole (aka Coley Bug) had an asthma attack and had to go up to Primary Children's ICU for a few days.  It was the saddest think walking in there and seeing him like this.  It broke my heart and helped my realize once again, how lucky we are, and how quickly some things can happen.  I'm so glad that he is feeling better now.

I decided to take my girls over to the park and take their pictures because Emma's birthday was coming up and I haven't done it in a while.  Here are my two favorite.

In a handful of years I'm going to have to lock them inside the house, they are such beautiful girls and I'm sure Dan may have a heart attack when they boys start coming around.

Emma turned 10 years old last weekend.  We had a swimming party in the morning, then heading over to our house afterwords.  I still can't believe that I have a 10 year old kid, but I guess I just will have to accept it.  I love her so much, she is such a sweet, smart and funny little girl.

Dan and I got her a new video camera (she dropped and broke the last one we got her so we made sure to get the warranty this time).  She loves making videos of her and her friends doing silly things.

She said she wanted doughnuts instead of birthday cake, so that's what we did.

Candles on a doughnut!

Nikki wouldn't try my lemon bars because she said they are for old people, so Kwinton tried to force feed her some.  For the record, they were good.

Well, that is it for September, another month gone by.  October is already in full swing and I can't wait to get my fall on.  And Dan and I just might have a little surprise lined up for the girls this month . . . shhhh, it's a secret.  I guess you will have to wait until my next post to find out what.

I hope all is well with everyone's families out there, I am grateful for all you you!!!
