Catching Up

I can't believe the first half of the year has nearly flown by.  That seems to happen when you are super busy.  I've managed to keep up with most everything . . . except blogging.  My biggest issue I was running into was that every time I would start blogging it would take FOREVER for my pictures to upload and I could never get anything blogged that didn't take me hours.  Just last month I finally got me a new computer and things are finally working a lot faster.  YAY!  Time for a much needed catch up post.

January - As always, was very crazy over here and amidst all the craziness Dan celebrated his 33rd birthday.  Happy Birthday Dan!  He went to the Auto Show for his birthday and I got him a weight bench and some weights as his present.  He eventually got around to putting it all together and I must say it looks very nice.  Now lets hope his job keeps him in town enough this year to get some use out if it.

He LOVES when we sing to him

We got him a peanut butter cup ice cream cake from Coldstone.  He loved it!

We also made use of our City Passes one last time and headed up to the new Natural History Museum.  The kids thought it was great because there was a lot of things for them to look at and touch.

One night, the girls found some dresses that Nikki and I wore back in high school.  They had a fun time trying them on.

I also went downtown and took some pictures of the Taylors for their 10th wedding anniversary.

February - We all headed downtown to the Leonardo museum that is next to the Salt Lake Library.

Apparently Kwinton had been drinking??

Emma got her first round of braces.  It's amazing how much they have moved already.

And now Emma and Kwinton are braces buddies!

We had a game night at Jon & Samantha's house, and celebrated Kathy's birthday.

March - My niece Cali had a tea party birthday.

These two weird kids were there

I also go to take a little trip with Dan to Florida.  It was so much fun hanging out with just Dan for a few days, and I loved being in the warm weather in March.

We rode on this

I made Dan try on this awesome hat

We went to Hogsmeade

Dan had a Butterbeer

Dan did this

And I did this

We also rode on this

Dan ate all these cheeseburgers (or did he?)

We also got to spend sometime at the beach.  We loved the white sandy beaches there.

April - We had a neighborhood Easter egg hunt (We love living in our awesome circle!)

Easter morning

Cute sisters

Egg hunt and Nana & Papa Taylor's

They all got new luggage from my parents for Easter (little did they know, it was for our upcoming secret trip to Disneyland)

Dan was out of town so my dad took the girls to the Daddy Daughter Dance at their school

Then the big day finally arrived.  We surprised the kids all with a trip to Disneyland!!  We gave them all their new shirts (we told them we were going to the cabin) and had them try to figure out what they meant.  It took them a minute or so, then the older ones finally realized it spelled Disneyland.  After we told them we were not heading to the cabin, but off to Disneyland instead we had a few (Cole and Jarom) that were sad for a minute because the wanted to go to the cabin, and it took a minute or two to convince Enoch that we weren't trying to trick them and we were actually going to Disneyland.

We drove to California, and on the way we stopped in a little ghost town called Calico

We finally made it!!

May - May started and we were still on vacation.

Emma loves the turkey legs!

While on vacation Hannah had her 6th birthday.  We spent that day at the beach then went back to the hotel for cupcakes and ice cream bars.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANNAH!!

Singing "Happy Birthday"

Then we had one last day in Disneyland

After we got home from the trip I went on a field trip with Hannah and her class to Wheeler Farm.

Then I was lucky enough to be able to take a trip to New York with Dan again.

On Mother's Day Dan took me to go see Newsies on Broadway!  It was so much fun.  I LOVE the movie and saw it tons of times when I was younger.

30 Rock

On our last day we decided to stop by the wax museum even though our feet were killing us.  We had a fun time messing around.

After I returned home from that awesome trip it was time for Emma's Soaring Eagle Award ceremony.  I'm so proud of her.

Memorial weekend we went up to the cabin.  We spent most of the time inside because it was quite cold outside.  It was even snowing at one point.  We still had a great time inside playing marbles and also shooting darts and my bow and arrow.

I also went on a field trip with Emma's class.  We went to the landfill and then Bingham copper mine.  I have never been to the copper mine before (even though I live right next to it) and I thought it was really cool.

At the end of the month Emma and Hannah had their dance recital.  It was so much fun seeing how much they have learned over the past few months.  We were very glad that both of their pairs of grandparents could make it.

June - Well, summer break has officially begun which means we've already had a few swim days.  Papa has been so great to set up a whole water park in his back yard for the kids to play in.

My dad got in on the fun too!

After a long day of swimming we decided to roast marshmallows and make smores.  It was too windy outside to do it, so my mom came up with the great idea of doing it in the toaster oven.

This year is the first year that we decided to get a zoo pass.  My sister, brother, cousin, and neighbors all decided to get one so we thought it would be great to do the same.  We will always have someone to go with us if needed.  Yesterday my sister, my dad and I all decided to make use of the zoo passes for the first time.  We had a fun day seeing all the animals and the new exhibit.

Kissing a giraffe

Hannah too!

Ok, I think I finally have caught myself up.  I'm so excited for this summer and all the fun things we have planned!!
