November 2014

November went a bit slower than usual for me, but that is because Dan was out of town most of the month.  He's been busy working hard, and I've been busy doing what I do.  (still haven't figured out exactly what I do, but I know I stay busy:))

I've been keeping myself busy taking care of the girls, helping at the school, and working.  I am a substitute at the preschool that my sister works at, and I have such a fun time hanging out with all the cute kids.  It seems, though, that there are a few of them having trouble getting my name right.  I've been called Miss Ang-O, Miss Nangie, and most recently Miss Orangey.  I do have such a great time.  I also finally got signed up at a substitute for Jordan District, which means I'll have even more to keep me busy throughout the day.   This month I was released as the Primary Secretary, which is still something that I am getting used to.  My heart is still a little sad about it, but I know that I will be busy doing something else soon.  Excited to see what is next for me!

The days are getting shorter and that means a lot more times spent indoors watching the kids doing silly stuff.  Chris likes to make scavenger hunts for the kids and it involves having them do things to check off their lists.
The kids had to each do 10 pushups

They had to google what an 8 track was and find one in the house

This is just boys being boys

Then they had to do a group hug

Here they are doing their best Star Wars impressions

And this is their Lion King play

This is a fun way to keep the kids busy while they are inside.

Pretty soon it was almost time for Thanksgiving and time to make pies!!  This year the girls really wanted to help, so we found things for them to do.

Yum!!

This Thanksgiving week we had the best weather.  It's so nice seeing the kids outside playing this time of year.

Then we put up our Christmas decorations.  Here is a picture of Hannah dancing while decorating.

The day before Thanksgiving Dan went to play basketball with some guys from work.  Someone stepped on his foot and he fell right on his elbow.  On Thanksgiving morning he was in a lot of pain so I drove him over to the ER after my family took a look at told him how bad it seemed.
Waiting to see the Dr.  We actually got in and out really fast on Thanksgiving day.  If you need to go to the ER, this is the time to do it :)

They took an xray and couldn't tell if it was fractured or not because of all the swelling.  They decided to wrap the arm and put on a splint and now he gets to go see another doctor on Friday to see what damage is done.  I'm hoping not much.  I told him he was banned from basketball, because when he played last year, he came home with a big black eye.

Nikki slammed her finger in a car door, so on Thanksgiving after we got back from the ER we took a picture of the two injured.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We needed a second table

I took my girls to the Olive Garden one day for lunch and they both ordered macaroni and cheese.  Silly kids, don't they know of all the other wonderful things the Olive Garden has to offer??

The Franc kids have been off track for most of November, so one day I decided to take them to see a movie.  We love Angie Movie Day!!

Emma did her book report on Wonder and I think she did a great job on her art project!

I took my girls to the dentist this month and once again they had no cavities.  I'm hoping they end up having Dan's teeth, because he has never had a cavity and I have had too many.

Dan has been called as one of the organists in our ward.  I took this picture of him as he was practicing before church one day.  This is him telling me not to take pictures in the chapel.  Haha!!

Emma loves my brother's dog Gracie!

I had the Franc boys come over another day and help me move all the art stuff at the school.  Because they were such great helpers I took them to lunch.  Look at these cute faces!

On Black Friday we headed out to do some shopping.  This year we brought the girls along.  They had such a great time and thought it was so cool.
Trying out the massage chairs at the mall

Then we made a visit to go and see Santa!

And there it is, a few days late but I've finally updated the blog.  I hope that everyone is doing great and you all have a Merry Christmas!!!

October 2014

It's time to say goodbye to October.  We had a really great month over here at the Hastings' household.  It seems that for a moment things slowed down just a little bit.  I'm enjoying the cooler weather and looking forward to all the fun holidays and get togethers that the next few months will bring.  Dan spent most of the month on the east coast for work and we missed him a lot.  I've been keeping busy by substituting at the preschool that my sister works at, and helping with the PTA. (I'm in charge of the Great Artist program this year, awesome!!)  Emma and Hannah are enjoying school and working hard at their piano.  They also both started a tumbling class taught by a cute girl in the neighborhood next to ours.  They love it!!

We went to the pumpkin patch and Nickelcade for Jarom's birthday this year.  The kids all had a great time in the corn maze and spending all their nickels.

Poor Buggy.  His asthma has been very bad so he had to spend the day in a mask.  :(

The Birthday Boy!!

I raced my sister . . . and she beat me!

My brother stepped in as "dad" for Hannah's Daddy Daughter Pumpkin Carving Contest for Activity Days because Dan was gone.

Look at their cute pumpkin.  Thanks uncle Chris!!

Then it was time to celebrate Enoch's birthday

We gave him the lovely decorated package

And it had a metal detector inside!  So fun!

Yikes!

Then we sang him Happy Birthday!!  Happy Birthday Enoch!!

We stopped by the Halloween house that is by my parents to take a look.  The kids think this is great!

Silly boys!

I found these two hiding under a desk at school one day

Gabe, Enoch and I ran a Halloween 5k together.  I love having little running buddies!

Hannah was practicing her talk that she was giving in Sharing Time at church

I made some gf sugar cookies . . . and ate most of them myself.

I hung out with Sam for a few days and we decided to do lunch

These are the pumpkins my girls carved.  Hannah's is the left and Emma's the right.

I stopped by to see the girls at their school Halloween parties.  So fun!

I also hung out with Jeffy.  He is dressed as Mike the Knight (whoever that is??)

I took the girls to see an exhibit at the BYU museum that had a bunch of costumes from movies. It was a bit small, but still cool to look at.

I love these two!!

Time to trick or treat!

Dan flew home on Halloween just in time for all the fun. (too bad he has to leave again on Monday :()

Hannah was Anna from Frozen and Emma was Maleficent

And Enoch was a banana.  He is too funny!!!

And just like that, we head into November.
