November 2015

We had a roller coaster of a month last month.  We decided that we would get a dog for the girls.  I know, this is not something that I thought I would ever do either, but sometimes we all lose our minds and do things for our kids :).  The kids have been asking for a dog for years, and I have never wanted one.  Just one more thing for me to do, right?  Well, after the presentation the girls put together for us (yes, they really sat us down and did a presentation on why we should get them a dog, and what they would do if we got one) we decided that we would do it.  Dan had a dog as a kids so he was on board, I still think I've lost my mind.  Anyway . . . we decided to surprise them one day after we found a cute little dog at the Humane Society.  Her name was Chloe.  After a week of having her in our house we realized that my allergies couldn't handle her and neither could Hannah's, she was breaking out into rashes and I couldn't breathe even though I take an allergy pill every day anyway.  So, back to the shelter she went.  It was such a sad day bringing her back.  The Humane Society told us that we would have a credit on our account for 6 months if we found a dog that worked for us.  We knew that we had to get a hypoallergenic dog, so we kept our eyes opened.  A few weeks later a little guy came in and we went to check him out.  We hung out with him for quite a while and Hannah and I both were not having any kind of allergic reactions.  Well, we decided to take him home.  Tobi-Wan Kenobi is now a part of the family.  It's been over a week and there has still been no allergy problems.  I am very excited for my girls even though I'm still getting use to the idea.  They believe his is around 10 months old and some sort of a miniature schnauzer mix.  He seems to be pretty much potty trained and super timid.  Welcome Tobi!

This was Chloe.  She was a dachshund mix.  It was sad to see her go.

The girls and Chloe

Papa let all the kids get on the roof one day.  He's a troublemaker!!

We re-created a photo that week took in the leaves a few years back.  These kids are growing too fast!

Then Papa had some fun with the leaf blower!

My sister's kids have been off track most of the month, so they come hang out with us occasionally.  We went to the library one day and it was so cute to see Jeffy and Cole reading together.

I wore this to church one day and Emma told me that I looked like I was wearing an ugly Christmas sweater dress.  Hahahahahaha!!

Thanksgiving was eventful as always.  We started the day over at the Hastings'.

Working out on grandpa's machine

We had a lot of fun playing with grandma's selfie stick

Dan carved the turkey!

Hannah through the punch bowl

Me, Kathy and Grandma Hastings all hacked Emma's Instagram.  We are awesome!!

The next day we headed out to do a little Black Friday shopping.

We are such a cute bunch!

This was the most hilarious thing we found while shopping.  For $100 you can have your own Chewbacca jacket!!

On Monday it was free day at the aquarium so we headed out into the madness and had a great time.

Yesterday we headed up to the Natural Museum of History because it was free for homeschoolers.  We had a great time exploring with the Vea's.

And finally, here he is, our dog Tobi.  Don't ask me why he is in my bed.  He loves me the most I guess.  I don't blame him though, I'm the one who gets his food, and takes him out to the bathroom at 6:30 in the morning.

Here's to a fun filled December!!

October 2015

Things are moving right along at our house.  I am enjoying homeshooling the girls and getting to spend a lot of time with them.  They really do bring me joy (when they are not fighting, that is :))  The girls are at ages that they are currently busy, busy, busy.  I spend much time driving the girls around to piano, tumbling, dance, activity days, young women's, and the middle school.  I figured out that on Monday's I drive over 30 miles, and I don't leave a five mile radius of my house.  Hahahahaha!!

Hannah went to Gardner Village for Activity Days and got Glitter Eyes.  So cute, and so fun!

Over fall break me, my sister and brother decided to take all the kids to the zoo.  It was such a nice day!

Jarom turned 8 this month, and was baptized on Halloween.

My little monsters dressed up a Pocahontas and Dorothy for Halloween.

Love my babies!

Sierra was a nerd

Sam was some Star Wars guy that I could never remember the name of.

Enoch was Slappy from Goosebumps.  He had a birthday too this month.  I can't believe they are all getting so big!

Jarom was this scary guy

We set off with the neighbors to do some trick or treating!

My mom and dad dressed up as Uncle Grandpa and Pizza Steve.  It was AWESOME!!!!

The kids got WAY to much candy!!

Trading candy

One night Hannah came out dressed as Dan.  It always make us laugh with the kids do this.

We saw this at the store.

I took these silly girls out for F'real's.

One day while driving to pick up Emma we saw a cat with three kittens following it.  One of the kittens got separated from it's mom.  We tried to find the mom but couldn't, so we took the cute little kitten over to the animal shelter by our house.  The kids loved holding the little kitty.

We did a murder mystery with the neighbors, and had a blast!!  Dan ended up being killed, it was hilarious!!

And that is that.
