November 2013

Oh November, you sneaky little thing.  It seems as if you just arrived and now you are leaving already.  Off we head into December and I honestly don't know if I'm ready for it or not.

Daniel had the last week off which we all enjoyed. Especially him, he LOVES that I always wake up sometime in the 6 o' clock hour even if we have no where to be.  I'm hoping that maybe as he gets older he'll start enjoying getting up earlier and earlier like old people (and me) seem to do, but I'm not going to hold my breath.  And until then, I will just keep finding new ways to annoy him in the morning.  hahahahaha!

Back in May I bought my family the Pass of All Passes.  It seems that we have been pretty busy since them and had yet to make any use of them, that is until one day one of my awesome neighbors asked if we wanted to use our passes to go and watch a Grizzley's game.  I was happy to finally use our passes for something, and we had a great time.  So great in fact, that the only picture I took was one of the hot air balloon out front and none of the actual game.  So here it is.

As the weather started to get a bit colder I decided that it would be awesome if we could make use of the geo dome during the winter so I got some twine and tied a tarp over it so when it snows the kids will have an igloo to play in.  They already think playing inside of it is awesome!

We've been having lots of fun playing games as a family for our Family Home Evening activities.  We have this Brain Quest game that is fun for the whole family.  It has questions for first grade up to sixth grade so we can all play together.  Dan and I answer the sixth grade questions, and the girls still manage to beat us some times.

Hot cocoa, family and games, what could be better?

Dan had to head out to Washington DC this month for a week and it just happened to be the week that my fruit trees were finally delivered (of coarse), so I called up my brother and Kwinton to help get them planted.  It was cold and raining, what nice guys.  :)

I spent lots of time hanging out with Jeffy again this month, and one day we asked Sam if he wanted to come to Angie Movie Day with us.  Angie Movie Day is so awesome we made up a song for it!!  We watched Free Birds and had lots of fun being the only ones in the theater.

This is how Jeffy likes to shop

I love my beautiful girls, they are getting bigger and funner every day!!

Nikki, my mom and Meg did some Thanksgiving crafts with the kids one night.  The kids LOVED it!!

Then came the big day, Thanksgiving!  We spent the morning and early afternoon with the Hastings.  We had a fun time hanging out and chatting while getting ready to eat.
Look at all these cute girls!

Hannah loves holding the babies

Dan's brother Jared got engaged this week.  Welcome to the family Mary!

Afterwards we headed over to my parents for some pie.
Jeffy was not a happy camper

I feel like I didn't take nearly enough pictures in November, but I am telling myself that I will try and take more.  I love having pictures to remind me of all the fun times we are having, but I also have been having so much fun sometimes I forget to pull out the camera.

I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving and also hope that you all have a great December!!

October 2013

Well, there's a feeling in the air
Just like a Friday afternoon.
Yeah, you can go there if you want
Though it fades too soon.

So go on, let it be.
If there's a feeling coming over me,
Seems like it's always understood this time of year.

If you know the song to which these lyrics come from, I award you 100 points.  :)  This song always reminds me off the fall.  ANYWAY . . . so here we are again.  Fall is in full swing and I am feeling the chill in the air.  Time to pull out the long underwear, scarfs, coats, gloves, boots - you get the picture.  If you see a bundle of clothes heading towards you in the upcoming months, it's probably me.  I hate the cold and plan on dressing like an Eskimo until the weather starts warming up again.

The end of October only means one thing to me this year . . . DAN HAS COME HOME!!!!  After four looooooooooooooong months in Puerto Rico I finally have my husband back.  We had a great time surprising the girls with his day early arrival . . . but more on that later.

For Activity Days they did a daddy-daughter pumpkin carving contest.  Dan was out of town so we asked Uncle Chris if he would step in as her dad for the night.  It seemed that they had a great time, and their pumpkin looked awesome!

One of the things best about fall is playing in all the leaves.  Nana and Papa Taylor have some big trees in their back yard which makes for a lot of leaves to play in.

Cuddling with her daddy while he was home for the weekend

Chris telling a big fish story

And now he is acting like one of the kids

We went to Nikki's ward's Trunk or Treat again this year.

Cali won for best kids costume as Vanellope (totally had to google that) from Wreck It Ralph

Kwinton as President Lincoln.  He won best adult costume!

Nikki and I as Gumby and Pokey.  The kids had no idea who we were, we got called broccoli and a cow?

My mom always has the cutest Halloween hats!

And what would October be without a trip to the pumpkin patch and corn maze!

One night we decided to watch Hocus Pocus with the kids to get them into the Halloween spirit.

Nikki and Meg making popcorn (watch your back Meg!)

What's wrong with my daddy?

Here I am spreading my joy to Kwinton.  I'm a hoot!!

This month we ran the Harry Potter 5k.  I was so proud of my mom, it was her first 5k and she came in at just over 38 minutes!!  I had a personal best too, I came in at 29:19!!

Here she comes for her big finish! (see the kids cheering her on the backgroud)

Gryffindor won the house cup with the best average time

Another day for the kids to play in the leaves.

Leaf angels!

Watch out Jeffy!

It's not just the kids who like to play in the leaves :)

This month we had a couple of birthday parties.  Jarom turned 6!!

And Enoch turned 9!

This was his present from Papa!! Haha!

So last night was Halloween and Dan was supposed to be staying in Puerto Rico until today, but found out earlier in the week that they were going to let him fly home Thursday instead.  We decided it would be fun to surprise the girls!!  Right after Dan got off the plane and was heading home I had the girls go over to the neighbors house to play for a few minutes so Dan could pull in the garage and get his costume on.  Then I called the girls home.  : D
Me in my costume

Dan just got off a plane and I made him put this thing on.  He must love me!

I had the girls stand on the porch so I could take their pictures and then Dan came out as Gumby.  They weren't sure who was in the costume until he took his hat off!!

Daddy's home!!

The girls looking cute with their neighbor friends

Sorting their candy after trick-or-treating

Hannah was a little hopped up on sugar at this point

Then she put on a show for us

Showing off for daddy!

What a fun Halloween!!!!

So here we go on into November.  I'm so excited that Dan is finally home and we can spend lots of time together for the holidays.  November is going to be full of fun, and I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!
