August 2013

Was it just me, or did the summer fly by WAY too fast??
Last thing I remember we were finishing up school then next thing I know I now have a 5th grader and a 2nd grader.  Seriously, what happened?!??
Anyway, regardless of how we got here, we are here now at the end of August (or close enough).  August was a crazy month once again in the Hastings' household.  We spent the first week finishing up in Puerto Rico, then as soon as we got home it was birthdays, family reunions, and trips with friends.  I'm so happy to be blessed with so many great people around me.  :)

This was our last day in Puerto Rico heading out to the airport.  I loved the hotel atrium so I had to get a picture before we left.  If you could no only see, but hear this picture, you would be enjoying the little chirps from the coqui frogs.

Goodbye Daddy and Puerto Rico!!

The day after we arrived home we headed out to the Hastings family reunion.  We met at the Syracuse fun center and had a blast bowling and playing laser tag.

Then it was time to celebrate some birthdays.  Nikki and her son Cole share a birthday and Jeffy has his birthday the day before, so it was quite the celebration.

Present time!

Kwinton got Nikki a new Kindle Fire and she was surprised, can you tell??

I should also mention that the same day is my parents anniversary.  Happy 39 years!!

Guess who got voted into student council at his school.  This guy!!

Then it was another family reunion of sorts, the Wilson kickball game!

What a fun crowd!

My little monsters!

One Saturday we went up to Snowbird to ride a few of the rides.  It was such a nice day!

Octoberfest was going on at the same time.

We decided that Chris needed more hair so we gave him some.  HAHA!

Last weekend Dan was finally able to come home after a month and a half of Puerto Rico and we headed out to Yuba Lake with the neighbors.  We decided to bring Dan's parents camper this time and it was awesome except for the fact that it rained and rained and rained.  We all ended up coming home early but made the most out of it by having a kickball game and pizza at the Pie.

Before we new it Dan was getting packed to head back to Puerto Rico and the girls were getting all ready to head back to school.  I was sad to send them off again, but I was also glad to slow down for a minute.  My poor house was turning into a disaster area.  Even Dan said "wow" to the mess when he came home, and he knows how much the mess makes me crazy, haha.  On the first day of school I set a little treat out for the girls and gave them the movie Epic.  My note said to have an EPIC school year!!

Off they go! (don't mind the creep photobomber in the background)

Even daddy got to see them head out before I dropped him off at the airport.

Blowing kisses

So there you have it, and that was just a piece of what went on this past month, we also celebrated Meg's birthday, my moms birthday and Dan and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary.  I can't believe we've put up with each other for so long.  : D
Well, until next time.  Can't wait to see what life has in store for us next month!

My partner in crime!!  I love you Daniel!!!!!!!!!!!!
