October 2014

It's time to say goodbye to October.  We had a really great month over here at the Hastings' household.  It seems that for a moment things slowed down just a little bit.  I'm enjoying the cooler weather and looking forward to all the fun holidays and get togethers that the next few months will bring.  Dan spent most of the month on the east coast for work and we missed him a lot.  I've been keeping busy by substituting at the preschool that my sister works at, and helping with the PTA. (I'm in charge of the Great Artist program this year, awesome!!)  Emma and Hannah are enjoying school and working hard at their piano.  They also both started a tumbling class taught by a cute girl in the neighborhood next to ours.  They love it!!

We went to the pumpkin patch and Nickelcade for Jarom's birthday this year.  The kids all had a great time in the corn maze and spending all their nickels.

Poor Buggy.  His asthma has been very bad so he had to spend the day in a mask.  :(

The Birthday Boy!!

I raced my sister . . . and she beat me!

My brother stepped in as "dad" for Hannah's Daddy Daughter Pumpkin Carving Contest for Activity Days because Dan was gone.

Look at their cute pumpkin.  Thanks uncle Chris!!

Then it was time to celebrate Enoch's birthday

We gave him the lovely decorated package

And it had a metal detector inside!  So fun!

Yikes!

Then we sang him Happy Birthday!!  Happy Birthday Enoch!!

We stopped by the Halloween house that is by my parents to take a look.  The kids think this is great!

Silly boys!

I found these two hiding under a desk at school one day

Gabe, Enoch and I ran a Halloween 5k together.  I love having little running buddies!

Hannah was practicing her talk that she was giving in Sharing Time at church

I made some gf sugar cookies . . . and ate most of them myself.

I hung out with Sam for a few days and we decided to do lunch

These are the pumpkins my girls carved.  Hannah's is the left and Emma's the right.

I stopped by to see the girls at their school Halloween parties.  So fun!

I also hung out with Jeffy.  He is dressed as Mike the Knight (whoever that is??)

I took the girls to see an exhibit at the BYU museum that had a bunch of costumes from movies. It was a bit small, but still cool to look at.

I love these two!!

Time to trick or treat!

Dan flew home on Halloween just in time for all the fun. (too bad he has to leave again on Monday :()

Hannah was Anna from Frozen and Emma was Maleficent

And Enoch was a banana.  He is too funny!!!

And just like that, we head into November.
