Hello everybody! Summer is in full swing here at the Hastings' household. We've been enjoying the warm weather and having lots of fun outside. My girls are officially done with the 5th and 2nd grades. I couldn't be a prouder mommy either, they both are very smart and their teachers all had great things to say about them.
Just before school ended we decided to use our city passes and headed downtown to the Lion House Pantry restaurant. My girls love this place because they know that it has the biggest pieces of cake ever!! They were not disappointed. Afterwards we decided to wander around city creek for a bit.
Look at that huge piece of cake!!
Best day ever!!
As much as we dive each other crazy, I love this man more every day!!
My parents are always up for a good time
We also stopped by the family history center and got this cool picture taken :)
Hannah and friends from her class
Sam and Jarom came with me to the girls' field day
Emma just wanted to go home, haha!
Emma had her spring piano recital. She played "Do You Want to Build a Snowman" and did an excellent job!
On the last day of school we had a big water party in the circle. The kids played and ate all day long!!
One Saturday we went to the farmers market at Gardner Village and Emma got to pet a baby goat.
We had to cross the river on a log
Nobody fell in, so that is good :)
Lots of painted rocks and fairy houses
Jeffy making faces again
We brought some paint so that we could make our own little village
I was FREEZING, so this is how dorky I looked
I made a Hulk rock
We also build a tepee for our village
Dan needs a nap after the hike
Emma and Hannah both went to day camps at Thanksgiving Point with their cousins. It just happened to be two days that it rained. Emma and Gabe ended up having a great time and the weather stayed nice enough, but Hannah and Cali froze in the rain during their camp.
This is how Hannah and Cali looked after their long cold day in the rain.
While Cali and Hannah were at their camp we decided to take the other kids to the new kids museum at Thanksgiving Point. Although it was fun the place was PACKED!! Hopefully we can make it again sometime when it isn't so crazy.
Emma, Gabe and Cole did a puppet show for us
Nikki and Emma danced
Emma and Gabe drew butterflies
Emma lost her head
We have been slowly working on our yard. We finally got curbing in and got some sod removed. It was a lot of work, and we still aren't done.
I had one scoop of ice cream one day. It was a big scoop!
I took the girls to Wheeler Farm and we had a great time seeing the animals, finding geocaches and playing in the stream.
It was a beautiful day!!
My sweet Boo!
And my silly Em
We made another trip out to the Thanksgiving point kids museum with the Hastings for our family reunion. Once again, we had a great time, but it was very busy.
There were a bunch of people getting baptized in the lake. I've never seen anything like that.
I'd had been wanting to take the girls to the Animal Inside Out exhibit at the Leonardo, but didn't want to pay the full price. My neighbor let me know that this past weekend during the Arts Festival they were letting people in at a discounted price, so I was very happy that we got to go. We saved over $50!!!
The girls were a bit weirded out at first, but ended up thinking it was all very cool
So there you have it! We are working out way into July and we are VERY excited for all that we have in store in the upcoming month. Summer is my favorite!!
