June 2013

Oh how I love the month of June.  School ends and summer fun begins, I live for the summer and the fall.  Although this month has been a bit hectic with me working a bit again, we've still managed to have lots of fun.

You might not remember, but I like to go running a few times a week.  Dan, Emma and Hannah are not big runners . . . yet, so in order for me to have a friend while out running I have them ride their bikes while I run. They all take turns amusing me while being my "running" buddy - by riding.

This month Emma had her second piano recital and Dan and I couldn't have been more proud!  She has been working hard and is turning into quite the little piano player.  I love hearing her practicing in our home.
Here she is practicing with her dad for the big day

I found Hannah taping boxes to her wall one day

Hannah was sick one day so she stayed home with mommy

Look how cute she is!

Grandma and Grandpa Hastings came to watch

We went to the Library Summer Kick Off Party one day.

Look at my cute little doctors!

Now that it is officially summertime that means we spend a lot of time sitting in the garage.  Since we don't have any big trees to sit under yet it's the perfect place to hang out in the shade.

I've been purchasing large quantities of Popsicles lately

See, I told you so

Playing in the yard

Dan is always finding new places to take naps.  Hehe

On the last day of school me, my sister and some of the neighbors decided to have a swimming party when the kids got off the bus.  What a fun day!

Popsicles and snow cones in the same day.  Awesome!

Last day of school!!

Summer means lots of water days.  We love when Papa Taylor sets up a water park in his back yard, one of the kids favorite places to play.

Love this face Hannah is making

Summertime also means allergies.  Hannah's eye was almost swollen shut because of allergies.  Poor girl.

Her eye finally started to look better.

A couple of months ago Emma's toenail started growing bigger.  Pretty soon it looked like this -

We decided to go to the foot Dr to see what was going on and decided to get the thing removed.  Here she is the day of surgery.

She did really well.  It ended up being a benign tumor that the Dr said just "fell out" when she cut the toe open.  Ewww!

Here is her cute wrapped foot

Another day of water fun at Papa's for Sam's birthday!

Happy 4th Birthday Sam-O!!!

My cute girls!

We usually take a Saturday and drive up to Willard Bay but because of the oil spill up there we needed to find somewhere else to go.  We thought about Jordanelle, but decided that the water would be way too cold so we ended up driving down to Yuba lake for the day. It was a bit of a drive, and the beach we were on wasn't as nice as Willard Bay, but we still had a great time.

Emma is still not supposed to get her toe wet from after the surgery, so we decided to bag it and wrap it up in duct tape.  It worked ok, but not great.

Too cute!

I don't think I've ever seen my brothers feet before.  I swear he wears his sneakers to bed.

Hannah lost three teeth in one day!!  They had all been wiggly for a while and last Sunday she came in and said one fell out so I put it in a bag for her.  Then a bit later she came in and I saw that another one was just about ready to come out so I convinced her to let me pull it and it came right out.  Then she was so excited and I told her that if she just pulled on the last one it would come out too . . . and so she did!! and it came right out.  The tooth fairy left her $5 for being so brave.

One day I went over to my sisters house and we were wearing nearly the same thing.  We are awesome!

We are painfully aware that our back yard is very boring.  The girls saw the geo dome at Sam's one day and loved it so we decided to bug daddy until he let us have it, and he did!!  It was a bugger to put together and Dan and I almost strangled each other during the process, but we got the thing assembled and it was so worth it!

I'm giving Dan a look that says "seriously"

It's finally done!!

Summer means picnics at the park, and that's just what Nikki and I took the kids to do.

Jeffy has the cheese touch

One day we decided to take the girls for dinner and ice cream.  It was so hot that we had to eat fast before our ice cream melted everywhere.

Last Friday Emma could finally officially go swimming again since her toe surgery so my sister and I decided that is was time for our first trip to the West Jordan pool.  It was the perfect day being that it was a record setting temperature day and got up to 103 degrees!

The giggle sisters

Emma and Gabe were finally big and brave enough to go down the water slide, so it was definitely a good day!

I'm sure he deserved this

I can't wait to go back again!!

This past weekend we were finally able to make it up to the cabin for the first time this year.  It was nice to get out of the 100 degree heat for some 90 degree heat, haha.
Guess what Enoch has in his cup?  Yep, bugs.

Playing some horseshoes

This is how the creek looked when we got there.  It was a mess and full of weeds.  It was time for some hard work.

They are working hard, and I am working hard supervising.

Time to take a break

Mom too

Nice form Meg!

Go mom!

Look!  I finally got a nice picture of Sam smiling!

Look how nice the creek looks now!!

What a fun weekend!

Alright folks that is all for now, but we are in the full swing of summer which means we have a lot more fun to be had.
