We had a lot of fun in the busy month of July. We seem to always pack a lot into this month and this year was no different. And just like most other years, Dan had to spend most of the month traveling :( We did get to visit him this month, but it's in a different post here. We sure do miss that guy when he is not around, and not just because I refuse to mow the lawn :)
Dan was able to come home for the 4th of July weekend so we headed up to the cabin for a day and took the rest of the grandkids to see the fairy forest. It was much warmer this time!
The river was much easier to cross this time
Look at that cute bunch! (Thanks Amber, I stole this picture from you:))
It was a beautiful day!!!!
Then we came back down to do fireworks at my parents house. We've been doing this for as long as our kids have been born and they love it more each year.
Having a hand stand contest
My poooooooooooooooooo! (he loves that nickname, hehe)
Dancing to Weasel Stomping Day
I told Dan I wanted to take a picture of him before the accident, because he was the one lighting off the fireworks this year and I just knew he'd lose a hand or something, but he was fine :D
The girls dance . . .
. . . and the boys wrestle
Let's start the show!
Too bad the neighbors were lighting more awesome fireworks, look at all those kids ignoring our firework and watching the neighbors, hahahaha!!!
What an awesome day!!!
My sister and I decided to take our kids over to bowl one day with the Kids Bowl Free pass. The kids had a great time, especially because cheese fries were involved.
One very hot day we decided to use our City Passes to go see the Thanksgiving Point Gardens. I love this place, even on a very hot day.
Nikki cools Emma off
The kids spent a lot of time in the Secret Garden getting each other wet because they were all so hot
Wet kids!!
We try to make the kids cute shirts for our big 24th of July party at the cabin every year. This year we had some spray on paints and let the kids come up with their own ideas. I think they all did a very good job!
Jarom put a Wii remote in his pocket
Then it was time to head up to the cabin for our big weekend. Nikki and I went a few days early with the kids. Look at all those cute faces!! We were packed full heading up there.
Time to relax
We went down the first night to the Kamas kids races. The kids had a good time, and they got a quarter after every race. Awesome!
Emma means business
Love these girls! I wish Dan could have made it back into town to join us.
We went down the next night for fireworks. Look at this beautiful sky!
Look at all these cuties. We sent them on a scavenger hunt to keep them busy.
There's trouble!
Then came the big day. We started out with our annual parade. Short and sweet, just the way I like it!
Somebody stole my camera to take a selfie!
Sawdust time!
Digging for candy, toys and money!!!!!
Then it was time for the shaving cream fight. This will certainly be a new annual thing. It. Was. Awesome!!!!
The kids started out a bit hesitant
Then everyone went crazy!!!
Here we are after the fight!!
Oh, and I should mention that while all this was going on we were also doing our annual horseshoe tournament. And guess who took first place for the first time this year?!? Yep, ME!!!!!!!!! (and of coarse my partner Matt:))
Look at this trophy, it's amazing
The girls did a dance for us
Then we sat by the fire a bit
The boys hit a few golf balls
The next morning we got up and had a small horseshoe tournament with the kids. They loved it!
This was my partner for the kids tournament, Mr Cole. And guess what . . . we won that tournament too!!!! Cole hit 3 ringers while we played!!
And once again it's time to head into a new month. Summer is not quite over yet for us, so we plan on cramming a lot of stuff into this next month also. And who knows, maybe I'll get around to my yardwork too?? Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!
