Who Is This Man??

This man is wanted for questioning after he was seen at Emma's birthday party. We have spoken with all of the guests and nobody knows who he is or where he came from. We believe that he showed up to the birthday party uninvited without a present and ate more than his fair share of cake and ice cream sandwiches. We've found out that he sometimes uses the alias "Dean Hastings" and is currently residing in Dallas, Texas. Please let me know if you have any information on this strange man.

Emma Turns 6!!

Isn't it weird how you wake up one day and your kid is six?? I can't believe how big she is getting. We had her Vet party this weekend and she loved it. Here are some pictures of the big day.

My Noisy Neighbors

I have noisy neighbors. They don't try and be noisy but they are. I live in a small house in a small "private community" (whatever that means). We have small streets here, if a car was parked on each side of the road a passing car could barely squeeze between the two cars. Anyway, my bedroom faces the road and my bed is against the wall facing the side of the road. The point I am getting at (slowly) is that my head, as I sleep, is approximately 30 feet from my noisy neighbors driveway. They own a diesel suburban (up until last month they owned two) and a couple of motorcycles. So every morning that he comes driving home at 6:00 AM (he works the night shift most the time) I get to hear his motorcycle or the diesel truck pull noisily into the driveway. Every morning she heads out and starts the noisy diesel suburban and likes to let it idle for a good 20 minutes (mostly when it's cold outside but sometimes when it's not) or if he is leaving somewhere in morning he likes to take the motorcycle out and rev the engine until I wake up. They also like their country music. I love a good country song but there is no need to turn it up so loud that the whole neighborhood can hear it as you wash your car or load the kids in the car. I realize I'm complaining again, sorry it's been a crappy day. Does anyone else want to complain about their neighbors? If so, this is the place to do it.

Just For Laughs

One of my favorite SNL Digital Shorts!!

Funny Emma

She's always saying things to that make me laugh.

Emma:
"Mom, if you can't find any vet party stuff (at the store) just look for animal doctor stuff"

and

Emma:
"I want a stuffed animal for my birthday"

Me:
"Emma you have too many stuffed animals already"

Emma:
"Ok, then I want a magic set, but mom, please don't use my magic set to make all my stuffed animals disappear"

Angie's Favorite Things

Love it!

Let Me Complain, Then I'll Get Back To Work

Ok, so I'm overly stressed right now with everything I have to do. I'm behind on everything. So I'm going to type it all out, complain this one time and get back to work. Bare with me.
My husbands gone, my house is a mess, Emma needs a haircut, both the girls need a bath today, I have two sinks full of dishes, the laundry is piled to the ceiling, so is the garbage in the kitchen, I have to plan a Emma's vet birthday party coming up next weekend, my car looks like a bomb went off inside it, the outside needs a wash too, I need an oil change, I have a LOT of work to do (not really a complaint because rates are great!), I have a "to shred" pile half a foot high at my feet, the lawn needs to be mowed, and trimmed, Hanson is playing in Dallas this weekend and I have to miss it :(, my Super Mario Galaxy game misses me, they moved the next Harry Potter movie out until next July, AND the groceries that I bought at 9:00 last night are still on my kitchen floor (I put away any fridge or freezer stuff). So, this is why my blogging is lacking. Now back to work, I promise no more complaining. I know everyone has been here once or twice. Have a great day!!

Just For Laughs

Fade To Black

Is it just me or is there NOTHING good showing at the theaters right now? I've already seen The Dark Knight and I'm waiting until I've finished all the Traveling Pants books to go see the movie and I've already taken the kids to see Wall-E (which I don't recommend for a two year old, she got bored). I guess I would see Mamma Mia but there was NO WAY I was getting Dan to go. If you've seen a good movie let me know.

Tennis Update

Me and my sister played our first tennis match today. We lost. :( In our defense (or maybe just an excuse) the other team had been playing for almost a year compared to us starting lessons less than two months ago. We lost both sets, all twelve games. We've started to call each other Venus and Serena all though it seems to be an insult to them. Oh well, we'll see what happens next week.

Anyone else?

It seems that it is just me this happens too. The past year I've started to get more and more ear infections (and sinus infections too which resulted in surgery, but that's beside the point) and it doesn't just hurt in my ear, I am sore from the top of my head on the sore ear side all the way down my neck. Anyone else had a lot of ear infections before?? I realize I should probably ask a Dr about this, but after my whole ordeal with the celiac, I don't like or trust the Dr too much.

What?!

Recently my girls have started playing house. One of them is the mom and the other is the baby. Now i'm constantly hearing them scream "mommy help me!" or "mom listen to me!" and I run to go ask them what they need and they tell me "not you mommy". I honestly feel like it's one more thing slowly making me a crazy person.

HOME!!

So I finally made it home. I've spent the last few days hanging with family, letting the kids play with their friends, cleaning, unpacking, and shopping. (I'm always doing that) The weather here is WONDERFUL.

Now I need to start pulling together Emma's vet party. She turns six in a few weeks and she decided that she wants to be a vet when she grows up because she loves animals and that is the kind of birthday party she wants to have. Now I just need to figure out exactly how to make that happen. I'm sure there isn't a vet cake in the book at Harmons. That's one thing I love about my Emma, she always surprises me. We went over to Old Navy a few days ago to pick out their Halloween costumes and do you think she picked the dog, or the cat, the butterfly, or the cute little monkey? No, she wanted to be the bat. She just always wants to do things differently. She was set on having a spooky birthday party before the whole vet party came up. She is a good combination of Dan's brains and my silliness, I love it!

So Kiss Me And Smile For Me

Well, come tomorrow morning it's time to say goodbye to Dallas. We spent our last night here hanging by the lake and then doing a little shopping. I don't know why I keep shopping, i'm already struggling to get everything packed but Dan agreed to shopping so I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity. I will miss a few things when I go, the first thing obviously is the cable TV in my room. Bet you thought I was going to say Dan. Ok, he can be first but my cable TV (I LOVE the Food channel and the show What Not To Wear) is in a close 2nd. We don't get the luxury of cable at home. I also will miss, well, nothing. Sorry Dallas but other than being the workplace for Dan for the next few months you really have nothing on my home. "Where I was born, where I was raised, where I had all my yesterdays". Wow, I need to go to bed, now i'm singing. Anyway, as my brother always says, see ya on the
flipside.

Different

Since I am leaving tomorrow I thought I'd post the differences I've noticed from here and home.

Their parking spaces are much bigger. Don't ask me why, maybe THIS is what they are referring to when they say "Everything's bigger in Texas".

The fire hydrants are silver.
Exhibit A:

The grass is weird with thick blades. Don't ask me why I notice, I just do.

The squirrels are friendlier. Although I must add that after this little guy came right up to me he went over to the kids next to me and the mother came over screaming at the squirrel to get away so that he wouldn't scratch the kids. That doesn't sound good, maybe he wasn't being friendly maybe he was preparing to attack.

Gas is ONLY $3.35 a gallon. Wahoo!

It's way too smoggy.

God writes billboards here. I see them all over. They say things like "I'm always here for you, Love God" or "Remember I care, Love God" Ok ok, so I probably shouldn't make fun of this but it strikes me as funny.

There is road construction EVERYWHERE. Oh wait, it's like that back home too, never mind.

They drive really slow. In there defence, almost every highway I get on the speed limit is only 60 MPH.

There are TONS of churches. Not like the ward houses you see back home, these are HUGE buildings everywhere that are all named things like "Pastor's Home" or "Church of the People" or "God Lives Here" (Ok so I made that last one up, but you know it's funny) I see one about every mile or so on the freeway.

Forget garbage cans, they just leave there bags of garbage on the side of the road.

They love Dr Pepper here. I believe it's because Dr Pepper is a HUGE sponsor for Cowboys Stadium. Now, this may not seem like a big deal to most, but I drink a lot of Diet Dr Pepper. (Remember my filthy habit) I mean I love the stuff like the boozer loves his spirits. Anyway, you can get it anywhere here on tap, I love it!

So there ya have it!

You Know She's Mine

We went bowling the other night. Emma would get so excited after she would trow the ball that she started doing victory dances. It was great, and more and more I'm seeing that she is just like her mom.

Hello Gustav

Texas weather update. (because I know you were wondering) The weather remains of what was hurricane Gustav have hit the humid city of Dallas. I'm still blogging by phone so the pictures aren't the greatest. The temperature here is almost bareable today. I heard the DJ on the radio say it was winter weather and it made him think of Christmas? Weird. It's very windy and about 75 degrees, but winter weather? I honestly saw someone walking down the street with a coat on. The whole city would probably shut down if they got an inch of snow.

Oh, and I think everyone would be proud to know that I made it all the way from Grand Prarrie back to the hotel without Simon (our GPS) today.

Movin' On Up

Today we made the big move to our new room. All the big suites were previously booked from Sep. 2nd through the 13th so we needed to move rooms for about a week. We are now in a slightly smaller suite on the 24th floor. We have a wonderful new view of downtown Dallas. The only problems we are having at the current moment are that we can't get the TV in the front room to work,(of coarse it's the one the kids watch, so they are currently driving us crazy) AND we are having problems with our internet. (maybe it's the altitude, who knows?) So that is why at the current time I am moblie blogging from my phone. (hence the word mobile) We had a very nonproductive Labor Day moving. The highlight of the day was finding a Pei Wei close by. (they make gluten free dishes ya know) So I sit here in my horribly uncomfortable bed (no bed is ever as good as your bed) listening to the girls slowly drive
their father insane (secretly chuckling to myself) finally looking forward to being home. We've had a wonderful time in the city of Dallas but now I want to go home. I want my family, I want my friends, I want my bed, I want my car, I want my weather, I want my bathtub, I want my kitchen full of Angie friendly foods, I want all my clothes, I want my Wii. I just wish Dan were coming home with me. He won't be able to fly home for three more weeks but it will be perfect timing for Emma's sixth birthday party.

Goodnight
